Introduction

Hello, thank you for joining me along my journey of becoming a Runner! I've always been an active guy, played sports in high school and continued into adult recreation sports after high school. As I started my family and found a career, the activity level slowly decreased. Well my Fiance had enough of our lazy ways and started on the Weight Watchers program and completely overhauled our daily meals. Step 2 was getting more active, so we decided to JOG our annual Juvenile Diabetes charity walk and actually enjoyed the activity. The month following the charity walk, we signed up for our first official 5K and had an absolute blast. From that point forward I have officially been BIT by the running bug and this is my journey to becoming a RUNNER!

Little Background

Last December my Fiancé and I ran our first 5K.  I trained a few times a week and actually did well for myself.  I ended up posting a 24:09:00 time which is about a 7:43 pace per mile.  Due to the lack of 30 year olds in the race, I placed 2nd in that age division and got a nice little award.  (Which is nicely placed in our living room!)

With the success, we signed up for another run just last week. I posted a 23:24:00 time which was a 7:32 pace per mile.  Didn’t place in this event but was extremely happy that I was able to decrease my run time. 

Now I’ve been bit by the running bug.  I’ve been researching upcoming races, training to increase my stamina, ways to decrease my 5K time, and I fully love the challenge that comes with running. 

With the start of this journey, I felt the need to document and share with all the trials and tribulations that come along with being a RUNNER.  Hope you all enjoy!
